CAT Hall Effect Single Sensors have Hall elements. Active Hall-effect sensors require an external power supply. The target gear square wave output is a waveform function. The frequency is proportional to the surface speed of the target gear as it passes through the sensor, but not the voltage level (unlike passive tach sensors). Hall effect sensors can detect zero speed (unlike passive speed sensors).
